Wendi S. Maresca...
My professional studies took place at Iowa State
University where I received my Bachelor of Architecture. Prior to becoming a
stay-at-home mom, I spent time doing interiors freelancing and retail sales.
In addition, I worked for
five years as an architectural planner and coordinator for a major retail
drug store. I live in northeastern Illinois with my husband, our son and our Labrador
retriever, Wrigley. Entering motherhood largely inspired me to write this
book. I have always loved quirky stories, music, and whimsical characters.
Reading and rhyming is one of my favorite ways to escape into the childhood
world inside my head. Growing up, a large part of my extracurricular time
was spent drawing and taking art and dance classes. Staying at home has
given me the opportunity to
create my idea of a children's book that appeals to parents as well as
their kids.
Steve Thomas...
I studied at the
University of Illinois in Champaign. Currently, I live in Chicago with my
wife and son. In addition to being an illustrator, I am also a property tax consultant,
jazz trumpeter and electric bassist. As a kid I loved reading comics and
that is still the first thing I look at in the Sunday paper. I have enjoyed
drawing since childhood as an entertaining form of humorous expression. I
believe it is also a highly personalized way to present your view of the
world to others.
